I love blogs. A blog is wonderful because you can take it an updated as often as you’d like, and other people will see the changes that you have made, and when you have made them.
There are many different topics that people like to cover in a blog. I have decided to write about some of the most important things that I have come across, and to help keep other people informed and updated. In this blog I will talk about some of the most current events and technologies in our society.
My favorite topic is languages. I love to study other languages and learn other cultures. That is what this first post will be about. Currently I am taking a class in Chinese at my school. Chinese is really interesting to me, but more so being able to speak it because I am able to talk with people. I find a lot of new things about people that textbooks don’t always describe or explain accurately.
The biggest reason that I like to study a foreign language is to learn about the culture behind the language and get to talk with the people. Talking with the people is how you can really learn how the society operates. Textbooks do not always give the correct history, but are rather tailored to a bias or one-sided viewpoint. I like to get the whole picture. This is why I study languages, so I can talk to the natives and ask them their viewpoints and their insights.
